We’ve reached that time of the year where we all collectively groan and start scrambling around for gift ideas for our Dads for good old Father’s Day. For some reason, they’re always the hardest to buy for each year (and we only have a few months before we need to think of an additional present for Christmas, what a disaster!).
But fear not, we’ve rounded up a list of amazing gifts our Fathers might actually use, PLUS, there’s no socks or ties listed here. No need to thank us, just get on these quickly… you’re running out of time.
Footy membership
We’re all in peak footy mode at the moment (who’s top of the ladder in the office tipping?), and our Fathers usually lead the pack when it comes to full footy fever. If your Dad strictly watches his team play from the old TV in his man cave (or garage) every week… then it may be time for an upgrade, membership style!
Skincare
We’re willing to bet your Dad is neglecting his skincare routine. We all know women are on top of the game, but that doesn’t mean men don’t need to look after their skin. You can work up to this by gently mentioning some fine lines you’re starting to see in the days leading up to the present reveal (only if you think he can handle it). Priceline and Mecca are ahead of the game when it comes to skincare, check out their pages for a full run down.
Cookbook
No, we’re not talking about one of those cookbooks that swear by the benefits of getting rid of all sugar, or how great kale is for the body… we’re talking about a proper “man food” cookbook. Cooking is easily one of the most satisfying hobbies of all time, and we know that most dads get all excited at the prospect of a new BBQ, so why not help them with the food part? Booktopia has one of the largest online libraries available to order in Australia. Our favourites are Dude Food and Cook Like A Man
Noise cancelling headphones
Not just for plane travelling, noise cancelling headphones are great when you just need to drown out the world for a moment. Perfect for morning commutes, some quiet time at the work desk, or outside when gardening during summer, these are sure to get their money’s worth with Dad, and there are price points for every budget. Sony has this great set for under $100, you can’t go wrong!
A day out
The good thing about our Fathers is more often than not, they’re not into material goods at all. Take the day on Sunday and go for a relaxing brunch or to a movie – this can be nicer than a wrapped gift. Find a place that does a great Full English Breakfast with some coffee and hit the cinema (the new Mission Impossible is out at the moment), and you’ll have them grinning from ear to ear!
